Two evenings a week, after the clinic, from the spare room. That is the shape of the work this page describes.
It is self-employed work. You set your own hours, there are no guaranteed hours, and you are paid per session.
Where things stand
Book a Physio is an Irish service where adults book a 30 minute video session with a CORU registered physiotherapist and pay online. We are building the roster now. Booking is not open to patients yet.
So what follows describes how the work is set up, not a service already running at volume.
The work
Patients are adults. They choose a physiotherapist and a time on the site, pay €55 for a single session or less a session in a pack of 5 or 10, and meet you on a video call inside the platform.
You set the hours you are open, and you can change them. Bookings close six hours before a slot, so nothing lands on you at the last minute.
Every session is 30 minutes. The single session price and the pack prices are set by the platform, the same for every physiotherapist, and they are not something you set or negotiate.
You treat, we handle the rest
You are paid for each session you deliver, and the treatment is the whole of your job. Work from home, or anywhere you have a private room and a good connection. What you do not pay for, or do yourself:
- a room, or a clinic's share of your fee
- travel
- reception and admin
- booking and payment software
- finding the patients
The usual route into online work is to build an audience and find your own clients. Here patients come through the site, and that part is ours to do.
One cost stays with you. You hold your own professional indemnity insurance. Beyond that, and your CORU registration, you need nothing else in place.
When you are paid
Your share is transferred to your Stripe account seven days after the session ends. Stripe then pays it to your bank on its own schedule. You set up that Stripe account once, before your profile is shown to patients.
If you cancel a session, or do not join within 15 minutes of the start time, the patient is refunded in full and no payout is released for that session. There are no fines. Repeated cancellations or no-shows lead to suspension.
What we ask for
- CORU registration as a physiotherapist, current, which we check on the public register.
- Professional indemnity insurance in your own name that covers online physiotherapy. We ask to see the certificate. If you are not sure your policy covers video, this page explains what to ask your insurer.
- Where and when you qualified, for your profile.
- A few hours you can reliably keep. We would rather two hours a week that you keep than twenty that you cancel.
How the arrangement works
You work as an independent practitioner. Your professional obligations, including your duty to keep clinical records, remain yours.
Nothing in the terms asks you to work only with us, so your clinic post and your own patients are unaffected. The one limit is that you may not move patients you meet through the platform off it to avoid the fee. Either side can end the arrangement with 30 days' notice.
The physiotherapist terms are published in full. They are marked as a draft and will be final before any booking is taken.
Who it suits
It suits a physiotherapist who would take a booking on a Tuesday evening or a Saturday morning, alongside whatever else they do. The service is new, so the first weeks are likely to be quiet.
